Team 18 are giving fans the first chance to see the reveal of Scott Pye’s livery for the VALO Adelaide 500 at their open day this Sunday before it hits the track for the final round of the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship.
The team is opening the doors to their Melbourne headquarters to members and fans this Sunday 27 November, where Pye will unveil the look for the return of his home race on the streets of Adelaide and his final Holden livery before the brand’s Supercars swan-song.
Pye heads back to Adelaide as one of four South Australian drivers and famously scored a pole position in front of his home crowd in 2016.
“I’m looking forward to unveiling my colours for the final round in Adelaide in front of the fans here at the Team 18 Open Day on Sunday,” said Pye.
“We’ve never opened the place up to the public like this, so it’s going to be a great day to check out what goes on behind the scenes at the race team.
“Heading back to the Adelaide 500 for the final round is going to be really special. The fans have made the return of the ‘500 possible and as a proud South Aussie it’s going to be incredible to get back to racing on the streets of our capital city, and hopefully we can farewell The Red Lion on a high!”
Pye has raced with four different naming rights partners this year as part of a rolling sponsorship model on his Team 18 #20 Holden ZB Commodore which has included Seiko, Hino, Nulon and Alspec, with the fifth and final livery locked in for the grand finale on the streets of Adelaide.
Pye and teammate Mark Winterbottom will both be in attendance to meet and greet with the public, with autographs and photograph opportunities throughout the day.
The team’s Gen3 Chevrolet Camaro builds will also be on display, as well as Team Owner Charlie Schwerkolt’s 2010 Supercars championship-winning Ford Falcon driven by James Courtney.
Fans will also have the chance to purchase a range of team memorabilia, plus spare panels and various workshop equipment as the team transitions to the upcoming Gen-3 era.
The open day has been boosted with a 20-car display from the HSV Owner’s Club of Victoria, as well as a pit stop wheel change activation, live music from acoustic duo JB and Me alongside food trucks, coffee vans, a kids jumping castle and door prizes with raffles taking place throughout the day.
The Team 18 Open Day is on from 11am to 2pm on Sunday 27 November, at 3/21 Lionel Road, Mount Waverley, with free entry to all guests.
The 2022 Repco Supercars Championship season will conclude at the 2022 VALO Adelaide 500 on December 1-4.
