2023 VAILO Adelaide 500, Event 12 of the Repco Supercars Championship, Adelaide Street Circuit, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. 25 Nov, 2023.

Team 18 drivers Scott Pye and Mark Winterbottom charged forwards to finish 10th and 11th in Race 27 of the Repco Supercars Championship at the Adelaide 500 from 20th and 21st on the grid.

Despite a challenging start to the weekend, the DEWALT and Toyota Forklifts Camaros exhibited strong pace during the race, enabling Pye and Winterbottom to steadily climb positions. With well-executed pit stops, both drivers carved their way through the pack in the intense 78-lap race.

Both drivers acknowledged the improvements in car performance during the race and remain optimistic about further enhancements for the final tomorrow.

Team 18 returns to action on Sunday for Race 28, the final race of the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship at the VAILO Adelaide 500. All the action can be viewed live on Channel 7, Fox Sports and Kayo.

Scott Pye, #20 Toyota Forklifts Team 18 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

Practice 3 – 8th (1:19.7149)

Race 27 – 10th (Fastest Lap, 1:20.5163)

“Tough day with qualifying, putting us to the back of the field, but we moved through, which is good, made up ten places and finished in the top ten and we look forward to tomorrow now.

“Hopefully I think our car’s better today than it was in qualifying, so hopefully that translates tomorrow in qualifying and we can  start further up the front.”

Mark Winterbottom, #18 DEWALT Racing Team 18 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

Practice 3 – 13th (1:19.8032)

Race 27 – 11th (Fastest Lap, 1:20.4380)

“Good recovery. We didn’t qualify where we needed to be, but in the race, we worked our way through, 21st to 11th is, is pretty solid.

“The car was faster. We just need a bit more rear grip and a bit better tyre life, so if we can tidy that up, it’ll be a lot better, but we made gains, which was good and now we’ve got something to work with tomorrow and try again.”
