Cub Cadet Racing’s Anton De Pasquale closed out the Ipswich Super440 with a hard-fought tenth place in Sunday’s 200km feature race, while TRADIE Energy Racing’s David Reynolds finished just outside the top ten in 11th.

The day started in strong fashion for De Pasquale, who topped the timesheets in qualifying to secure provisional pole before going on to place fourth in the Top Ten Shootout. Reynolds also made the shootout, qualifying tenth after narrowly progressing through the earlier stages.

The race was run in challenging mixed conditions, with rain at the start and a mid-race safety car throwing a strategy curveball.

Reynolds made his way up to eighth on the first lap and showed good pace in the half wet/half dry conditions.

De Pasquale was on for a top five finish before several cars took both compulsory stops during the safety car period to vault up the order and came home in eighth, while Reynolds crossed the line in 11th after sitting well inside the top ten early.

The team will remain in Queensland this week for the pre-enduro test day on Tuesday, followed by a passenger ride day on Wednesday. The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship continues at The Bend Motorsport Park for the AirTouch 500 on 12–14 September.

“Hey guys, wrapping up the weekend from Ipswich. It was a pretty chaotic lead-in, but overall a really good weekend for us in the Cub Cadet Camaro. Sunday was intense, but we got through it well and had really strong car speed. We managed to improve overnight to grab provisional pole on Sunday morning, which was awesome.

“We couldn’t quite convert in the shootout and slipped back a couple of spots, but there were still plenty of positive signs and we’re progressively getting better.

“The race was chaotic, rain at the start, a safety car that mixed things up, and we copped a hit in the last stint that folded the guard onto the tyre. That hurt us a bit, but we still got it back into the top ten. Overall, it was a strong weekend with consistent pace, and that’s a great sign heading into the next rounds.”

“Hey everyone, here’s my wrap from Ipswich. We had high hopes. All on soft tyres with four sets of greens for qualifying. I ran two in the first session and two in the second, scraping into the shootout by the skin of my teeth. I ended up 10th after the shootout, but I was on used tyres and, funnily enough, a bird dropped something on my windscreen heading into the last corner, which was a bit distracting.

“I started 10th, got a good launch and was up to eighth on the first lap. Then the rain started coming down, super sketchy but heaps of fun when everyone’s on slicks. After the stops and safety car, I lost a few spots and was running around 13th.

“I picked up a place when Will Brown got turned around, then another with a penalty ahead, to finish 11th. We just didn’t have the pace to charge forward, but it wasn’t a bad day.

“I’m really looking forward to the enduros with my mate Lee Holdsworth, it’s going to be a fun next couple of races.”
