Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440 , Event 09 of the Repco Supercars Championship, Ipswich Raceway, Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. 21st-13rd Aug 2026.
Team 18 has opened the Century Batteries Ipswich Super440 with Anton De Pasquale fifth fastest in Friday practice at Queensland Raceway.
De Pasquale began the weekend by placing the DEWALT Racing Chevrolet seventh in Practice 1 with a best lap of 1:09.9009.
With hot and slippery conditions creating a challenging balance around the 3.12-kilometre circuit, De Pasquale and the team worked through several changes before improving to a 1:09.1577 on his final lap of Practice 2 to finish fifth.
Despite ending the day towards the front of the field, De Pasquale believes there is more performance to unlock as the team prepares for potentially different track conditions on Saturday.
Snowy River Racing’s David Reynolds also made an encouraging start to the weekend placing inside the top 10 in Practice 1 with a 1:09.9781.
Reynolds made headway after making several changes during the opening session. He lowered his best time to a 1:09.4743 in Practice 2 which had him 15th at the end of the day.
The short Queensland Raceway lap produced typically tight margins, with De Pasquale less than half a second from the fastest time and Reynolds only 0.7711 seconds away in Practice 2.
The team will review Friday’s running ahead of a busy Saturday featuring two qualifying sessions from 10:00am and two 120-kilometre races across the Soft and Super Soft tyre compounds at 12:45pm and 4:15pm respectively. All the action can be viewed live on Fox Sports and Kayo.
RESULTS & QUOTES
Anton De Pasquale, Driver – No. 18 DEWALT Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
Practice 1: P7 (1:09.9009)
Practice 2: P5 (1:09.1577)
“It was awesome to get back in the car and turn some laps around Queensland Raceway.
“We finished Practice 2 in fifth, so we’re there or thereabouts. The track was hot and slippery today, and the car didn’t feel quite as good as we would have liked, so we worked through a few changes across the two sessions.
“The conditions will likely change a lot tomorrow, so we won’t read too much into today. We’re in a decent window, but still have a little bit to find. I’m looking forward to the rest of the weekend.”
David Reynolds, Driver – No. 20 Snowy River Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
Practice 1: P10 (1:09.9781)
Practice 2: P15 (1:09.4743)
“We rolled out reasonably well in Practice 1 and made a couple of changes throughout the session which improved the car.
“Practice 2 was okay, but we didn’t have the best set of practice tyres available. When we fitted the new tyres, the grip level increased significantly and I made a mistake at Turn 2, which meant I had to go again on a second lap.
“There are plenty of things we can work on to improve the car overnight, and I’m looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow.”
