Supercheap Auto Racing heads to Mount Panorama for the final event of its 2026 wildcard campaign, with Craig Lowndes and Bayley Hall ready to take on the Bathurst 1000 in the No. 15 Chevrolet Camaro.

The team arrives at Bathurst following a wet and wild Airtouch 500 at The Bend, where Lowndes and Hall recovered to finish 12th. Lowndes survived a frantic opening lap before being spun from 18th early in the race, then narrowly avoided further trouble as he scraped past a spinning Jayden Ojeda, making slight contact with the rear wing.

Hall’s stint was more settled, with the 23-year-old Super2 driver making steady progress through the field as the track dried and conditions improved for slick tyres.

While this weekend marks Hall’s Bathurst 1000 debut, he brings valuable Mount Panorama experience from competing in the Bathurst 12 Hour. He will also undertake double duties across Super2 and the main game, gaining additional track time while managing a busy schedule between the two categories.

Lowndes will chase an eighth Bathurst 1000 victory in his 33rd start in the Great Race, moving him to second on the all-time starts list ahead of his first Supercars teammate, the late Peter Brock.

The 2026 Bathurst 1000 will take place on Sunday 11 October, with coverage live and free on the Seven Network, as well as Fox Sports and Kayo.

QUOTES

Craig Lowndes – Driver, No. 15 Supercheap Auto Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

“This is always the most exciting part of the season for me. I’ve always loved Bathurst, hence why I keep coming back! This is an event that I truly love and I’m really excited to come back for it.”

“We had a good run at The Bend; Bayley’s learned a lot in the last couple of meetings so we’ll hit the ground running, and the team’s done a great job in turning the cars around so I’m ready to cut some laps.”

“I have no doubt Bathurst will throw everything it can at us again, like it did last year with the rain and the fog. But we’ll be prepared for it, and it was a great race from a fan perspective because of that.”

“It was a great learning curve for me at The Bend, running the 80 or so laps I did in the wet; it just helped to get back behind the wheel again, because Bathurst is such a different beast.”

Bayley Hall – Co-driver, No. 15 Supercheap Auto Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

“This is like racecar drivers’ Christmas come early. I loved watching the Bathurst 1000 for as long as I can remember, and a younger Bayley wouldn’t believe it if you told him he’d race it one day.”

“This weekend will be my first time doing double duty on a Supercars weekend in Super2 and main game. Logistically, I know it’ll be a handful running between the two garages and driving two very mechanically different cars, but it’ll be a challenge that I look forward to.”

“Craig knows Bathurst better than anyone else, and I’m excited to lean into that experience and make the most of the laps I’ll get.”

“Now that I’ve completed both a solo and endurance event, I have a better understanding of how the 1% details make or break a weekend, and I’m confident that the Supercrew will do an amazing job.”
