Team 18 has celebrated a breakthrough victory at the Sydney 500, with Anton De Pasquale converting pole position into a commanding win in Race 2 at Sydney Motorsport Park in the DEWALT Racing Chevrolet, with Snowy River Racing’s David Reynolds in fifth.
After securing pole in Saturday afternoon’s Top 10 Shootout, De Pasquale delivered a clinical drive under lights to claim his first victory of the 2026 season and the second ever win for Team 18, their first since 2023.
Starting from the front row, De Pasquale made a good jump and took the lead into Turn 2 from Kostecki, and maintained track position through the first pit stops under safety car.
After taking his second stop early, he managed the margin to a hard-charging Kostecki to the finish, capping off a near-perfect Saturday for the Chevrolet homologation squad.
The result marks a significant early statement for Team 18 in its first full season as Chevrolet Racing’s homologation partner.
On the other side of the garage, David Reynolds delivered a spirited charge in the Snowy River Racing Chevrolet Camaro.
Reynolds narrowly missed the Shootout for the second consecutive day, qualifying 11th by just two-hundredths of a second.
A strong start and aggressive opening stint saw him embroiled in several on-track battles before capitalising on an undercut to climb through the order up to fourth and eventually finishing in fifth.
The Snowy River Racing crew gained valuable track position during the pit cycle, allowing Reynolds to finish an impressive fifth, completing a strong day for the team.
Sunday’s action features Qualifying at 12:10pm AEDT, the Top 10 Shootout at 1:05pm and Race 3 at 4:05pm. All the action can be viewed live on Channel 7, Fox Sports and Kayo.

David Reynolds, driver #20 Snowy River Racing Chevrolet Camaro
“Day two at Sydney Motorsport Park, we qualified 11th and missed the Shootout by two-hundredths of a second, which is nothing. That’s two days in a row we’ve missed out by that much.
“I got a really good start and had some massive battles. I probably got involved in a few things I didn’t need to, but the car was really good and the strategy was amazing. We jumped a few people in the pits and ended up fifth overall.
“Congratulations to the team, it’s a huge result with Anton winning. I couldn’t be prouder of them. You should see the smiles on their faces.”
