DEWALT Racing’s Anton De Pasquale charged from ninth to third in Race 23 at the Perth Super440, delivering Team 18 its first podium at Wanneroo Raceway and extending the team’s podium streak to four consecutive rounds.

Following overnight rain, the circuit had dried before Saturday morning’s two qualifying sessions. De Pasquale advanced to Q2 on both occasions, securing ninth for Race 23 and 10th for Race 24. Snowy River Racing’s David Reynolds found himself on the wrong side of a tightly contested midfield, qualifying the #20 Snowy River Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 18th for both races.

De Pasquale immediately began moving forward in Race 23, passing Heimgartner and Gray during the opening laps to climb into seventh. Reynolds also made a strong start, gaining three positions within the opening five laps.

After the compulsory pit stops, De Pasquale joined an intense battle involving Allen and Randle. He completed a decisive move on Randle at the final corner on Lap 37 before contact between Allen and Kostecki triggered a Safety Car two laps later.

De Pasquale capitalised on the incident to move into third ahead of the Lap 44 restart and held the position through the seven-lap sprint to the chequered flag. His six-position charge delivered his fourth podium of the season and Team 18’s fifth of 2026.

Reynolds pitted for fresh tyres under the Safety Car but was forced to return to pit lane when the left-rear wheel required further attention. The additional stop undid his earlier progress, leaving him 19th at the finish.

Race 24 was contested on the Dunlop Super Soft tyre and ran uninterrupted across its 50-lap distance. De Pasquale remained on the edge of the top 10 before finishing 11th, less than one second behind Randle. Reynolds recovered from a difficult start and improved three positions to finish 15th.

Team 18 will return to Wanneroo Raceway on Sunday for qualifying for Race 25 from 11:00am AWST, followed by the Top Ten Shootout at 11:45am. The weekend concludes with the 200-kilometre, 80-lap Race 25 at 3:20pm. All the action will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and Kayo Sports.

“It was a very busy Saturday with two qualifying sessions and two races across the Soft and Super Soft tyre compounds.

“The Soft tyre race was really positive for us. We had a strong race car and were able to come through from ninth to finish on the podium, which was awesome. It’s always tricky with the parc fermé rules, so to make that progress without being able to change much on the car was a great result.

“We didn’t have the same pace on the Super Soft tyre. We tried a few different things and used the opportunity to learn, but they didn’t quite work as we hoped. We have a good base car for tomorrow’s race on the Soft tyre, so hopefully we can keep heading in that direction and finish the weekend strongly.”

“We arrived this morning with high hopes because the car wasn’t too bad yesterday, but the balance and the track changed quite a lot and we didn’t maximise either qualifying session, leaving us 18th for both races.

“The first race was difficult. The car wasn’t too bad at the beginning, but it became harder to drive as the race went on and we eventually finished 19th.

“We didn’t get the best start in the Super Soft race and lost a couple of positions. The car was quite understeery early, but I knew it would improve as the fuel burned off and the front began to grip up. We recovered to finish 15th and the car felt much better than it did in the opening race. There are still a few things we could have done better, but we made progress and I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”
