Supercheap Auto Racing’s Bayley Hall has completed the first two races of his Supercars career, highlighted by a climb from 27th to 19th in Race 27 at Queensland Raceway.
Competing at his home circuit in front of family, friends and a strong contingent of local supporters, Hall began his landmark Saturday with two qualifying sessions aboard the Supercheap Auto Racing Chevrolet where he qualified 25th and 27th for Races 26 and 27.
The 23-year-old’s first Supercars race began with a difficult launch before he quickly recovered to rejoin the pack and held his own as he gained valuable experience racing in the tightly contested field.
Hall extended his opening stint before stopping on Lap 19 for two rear tyres. He continued to build his understanding of the Gen3 Camaro across the remainder of the 39-lap race and reached the chequered flag to complete his Supercars race debut.
Determined to respond in Race 27, Hall made a clean start from the rear of the grid and stayed out of trouble during an incident-filled opening phase.
Hall continued to show encouraging pace as he worked his way into contention with the cars ahead. A four-tyre pit stop gave him the grip required to attack during the closing stages, while two Safety Car periods brought the field back together.
The Queenslander remained composed across the late restarts and continued moving forward, eventually crossing the line in 19th position after gaining eight places from his starting spot.
The result provided an encouraging conclusion to Hall’s first Supercars race day and added another 78 racing laps to his experience in the Supercheap Auto Racing Chevrolet ahead of Sunday’s 200-kilometre finale.
Sunday’s action features qualifying at 10:55am, the Top Ten Shootout at 11:40am and Race 28 at 3:20pm over 62 laps. All the action can be viewed live on Fox Sports and Kayo.

“It was a big day with plenty of firsts and a lot of learning.
“It was important to reset after qualifying and the opening race. We haven’t come here just to make up the numbers, so finishing at the back was humbling, but it motivated me to come back fighting in Race 27.
“We were able to move forward eight positions to finish 19th, which was a really positive way to end the day.
“There are still plenty of areas for me to improve, but I now have a lot more laps under my belt and a better understanding of what to expect and how these drivers race.
“I’m looking forward to Sunday and I’m ready to keep fighting.”
