David Reynolds’ TRADIE Energy Chevrolet has gone pink for the next four rounds of the Supercars Championship, kicking off at this weekend’s Perth Super440 as CARCO.com.au Raceway becomes the first track in Supercars history to notch up 100 championship races.
The livery change has come to fruition to promote TRADIE’s range of energy drinks, from the fluro yellow of Lemon Squash to the bright pink of Creamy Soda, with the bold new look to feature across the next four rounds.
The livery was revealed in a playful video featuring Reynolds swapping cans at an APCO Service Station before unveiling his updated Chevy in the new pink colours.
The short and abrasive circuit of CARCO.com.au Raceway, otherwise known as Wanneroo, presents a tough challenge for drivers and engineers alike. First hosting the Australian Touring Car Championship in 1973, the historic venue has hosted some of the Championship’s most action-packed races over its time.
Reynolds, who has enjoyed success at Perth in the past, is eager to build on his performance in Tasmania and maximise the performance of the new soft tyre compound, which will be used in two of the three races across the weekend.
Meanwhile, teammate Anton De Pasquale is focused on delivering a strong comeback following a challenging run in Tasmania. The DEWALT Racing driver is confident in the team’s direction heading into the milestone event and is targeting a mistake-free qualifying performance to but their best foot forward in each race.
Track action begins on Friday with two 30-minute practice sessions. Saturday features dual knockout qualifying from 9:45am, followed by two 50-lap races, the second of those on the Super Soft tyre compound. Sunday showcases qualifying at 11:00am, a Top Ten Shootout at 1:05pm, and the feature 83-lap, 200km Race 16 at 3:15pm.
Catch all the action live on Fox Sports and Kayo. Check local guides for further details.
QUOTES
David Reynolds, driver #20 TRADIE Energy Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
“I’ve got a pink car this weekend, it’s a brand new livery for the Creamy Soda TRADIE Energy flavour, which is always cool and exciting. It’s very bright, so you won’t miss me on the track!
“I like going to Perth. It’s a good track, it’s quite a small track, quite basic, but the elements are quite difficult to get everything correct.
“I’ve had success there in the past. When your car works really well it’s quite easy to turn a fast lap time there. Last year we struggled a little bit at the start, but then we got better towards the end of the weekend. So I think we’ve got a good starting base heading over this year.
“I’m looking forward to it. It’s, we’re back on the new soft tyre. So we’ve gone on the soft tyre, then there’s one run on the super soft and then there’s most of the racing on the soft tyre. That’s, the tire gives a bit more grip. So yeah, it’s gonna be interesting to see where we roll, but I’m looking forward to it.”
Anton De Pasquale, driver #18 DEWALT Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
“ Excited to head to Perth for the hundredth Supercar race at Wanneroo!
“It’s always a great event, usually really good weather and atmosphere at the track.
“I’m excited to get back in the car and bounce back after a semi-difficult Tasmania. So we have a really good plan looking forward and have some great ideas for how we can tackle Perth.
“It’s very similar to Tassie in a way with a short lap. Mistakes get punished so you have to really maximise laps in qualifying to be at the front and be part of the race. Looking forward to that and getting back into it.”
