2025 Bathurst 1000 runner-up David Reynolds will debut an eye-catching new look at this weekend’s Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500, with TRADIE Energy Racing unveiling a full-body race suit unlike anything seen before in Supercars.
Reynolds’ #20 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, backed by naming rights partner TRADIE, will take to the streets of Surfers Paradise with the driver wearing a bespoke race suit featuring the printed physique of TRADIE Ambassador and former rugby union star Nick “Honey Badger” Cummins complete with TRADIE underwear proudly on display.
The design, inspired by TRADIE’s signature sense of humour and personality, brings the brand’s iconic energy trackside for the famous street race.
While missing out on a finals berth, Reynolds enters the Gold Coast weekend on strong form following pole position in Townsville, a runner-up finish at the Bathurst 1000, and top-ten results at Queensland Raceway and Townsville.
The Surfers Paradise street circuit is also a happy hunting ground for the 2017 Bathurst winner, who claimed victory there in 2023 and two top-ten finishes last year.
Reynolds is also racing for a greater cause, wearing a pink helmet that is being auctioned to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, in partnership with JAX Tyres & Auto.
Reynolds’ teammate Anton De Pasquale will also be in action on the Gold Coast as the Supercars Finals Series kicks off, entering the round seventh in the standings.
Supercars track action begins on Friday with two 30-minute practice sessions, followed by 250 km races across Saturday and Sunday. All the action will be broadcast live on Channel 7, Fox Sports and Kayo.
QUOTES
David Reynolds – Driver, #20 TRADIE Energy Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
“I’ve worn some loud suits in my time, but this one takes the cake. It’s the Honey Badger’s rig on full display, muscles, abs, the lot, and I’m just the bloke lucky enough to wear it!
“TRADIE always brings a bit of fun to the track, and that’s what makes this partnership so great. Hopefully the fans get a laugh out of it, and we can back it up with a strong result on track too.”
Ben Goodfellow – Founder & CEO, TRADIE
“At TRADIE, we like to do things differently and this race suit is a perfect example of that. The Honey Badger has been part of the TRADIE family for years, and when the idea came up to bring his body to the track, we couldn’t resist.
“Dave’s the perfect personality to pull it off! He’s cheeky, competitive, and not afraid to have a laugh. It’s all about having fun while supporting one of the most entertaining drivers on the grid.
