DEWALT Racing’s Anton De Pasquale brought home another top ten finish in Race 5 of the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship at the Australian Grand Prix, with Snowy River Racing’s David Reynolds battling home in 19th.
It was a chaotic opening lap as De Pasquale was muscled back three spots, while Reynolds pounced and made up four spots on the first lap.
From there Reynolds’ challenges began, battling for grip throughout the race as he dropped back to 19th.
De Pasquale had a battle on his hands in the pack, getting by Mostert for ninth on Lap 8 with a strong move down the inside at Turn 11. However two laps later he was hit by Allen at Turn 4 and dropped back to tenth, fending off Hill to the chequered flag.
Tonight is a chance for the team to consolidate and reset, with Saturday’s action commencing with Qualifying for Races 5 and 6 from 9am AEDT, before Race 5 at 5:30pm. All the action can be viewed live on Channel 10, Fox Sports and Kayo.
RESULTS & QUOTES
Anton De Pasquale, driver #18 DEWALT Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
Race 5: P10
“Pretty long wait for the one race. Pretty hectic race — a lot going on. Cars going everywhere.
“We’ve not really got much to fight with, so that’s it. Pretty set tomorrow to go again and hopefully it’s better.”
David Reynolds, driver #20 Snowy River Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
Race 5: P19
“I battled in that one. I suppose I had four laps of good and then 15 laps of just blistered tyres.
“We wanted a pointier set-up and we got a pointier set-up, and it was way too pointy. But even on lap one I’m thinking to myself, it’s pointy, I better manage this thing and not be stupid about it.
“Mine still blew out way worse than everyone else’s. I didn’t think I was trying anything. I wasn’t trying to make moves on people, so I wasn’t trying to use the tyre. I was actually going through the back section watching all the cars in front going, they’re gonna blow their tyres out because they’re way harder than me, but mine just went the earliest for some reason. I don’t know why. I’m trying to look at that.
“Yesterday that didn’t happen. I know it was a shortened race with a safety car, but I felt like I was pushing way harder yesterday. So we’ve just got to take some energy out of the car somehow and make the car live, because that was quite bad.
“Brand new start tomorrow. Two qualifying sessions. If I had that sort of balance in qualifying it’d probably be pretty quick, really pointy, use the rear a lot.”
