2026 ITM Christchurch 440, Event 04 of the Repco Supercars Championship, Ruapuna Raceway, Christchurch, , New Zealand. 17 Apr, 2026.
Team 18 head to Tasmania this week for the Tasmania Super440 at Symmons Plains Raceway on May 22-24, with both Anton De Pasquale and David Reynolds looking to continue the team’s strong start to the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship season.
The second-shortest circuit on the Supercars calendar at just 2.71km, Symmons Plains Raceway is known for its two long parallel straights and the iconic Turn 4 hairpin, the slowest and tightest corner in the championship. The layout regularly produces action-packed racing and overtaking opportunities, with strategy and tyre management set to play a key role across the weekend.
Races 14 and 16 will utilise the Dunlop Soft tyre, while Saturday afternoon’s Race 15 will feature the Super Soft compound. Race 15 will also mark a significant milestone for the championship as the 100th Supercars race held in Tasmania.
Following Wednesday’s Fan Fare event in Devonport, on-track action begins on Friday with two practice sessions, before a busy Saturday featuring qualifying for both sprint races and the pair of 120km contests. Sunday will feature a three-part qualifying format, including the Top Ten Shootout, ahead of the weekend’s feature 200km race.
DEWALT Racing’s Anton De Pasquale has previously shown strong pace at Symmons Plains, claiming podium finishes in both 2021 and 2022, and will be aiming for a much cleaner weekend after a difficult outing at the venue in 2025.
Snowy River Racing’s David Reynolds also has strong history at the circuit, with podium finishes in 2019 and 2022, while recording a pair of top ten finishes during last year’s Tasmania event.
Fans can catch all the action live on Fox Sports and Kayo. Check local guides for further broadcast details.
QUOTES
Anton De Pasquale – driver, #18 DEWALT Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
“Tassie is always a cool place to go racing. It’s a really unique little circuit and it always seems to put on good racing with how tight and close everything is.
“It’s short and flat, but it’s still really fast with the long straights and heavy braking zones, especially into Turn 4, which always creates good opportunities to race hard and make moves.
“The competition has been super tight this year, so qualifying and getting track position is going to be really important, but we’ve shown good speed lately and hopefully we can put together a strong weekend.”
David Reynolds – driver, #20 Snowy River Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
“Tassie, I generally love going to this place. It’s a funny little circuit that creates really good racing and I’ve had reasonable success there in the past, which kind of suits my style — brake as late as you can, get the car turned, and get out of the corners as quick as you can.
“It doesn’t sound like much to it, but it always creates a lot of good racing because there’s a few different lines at the hairpin you can take, and you can sort of sneak under people. You can always bump draft people and make good passes, so we’re looking forward to it.
“We’ve got a few changes on our car in the parity window, so hopefully that is going to bear some fruit for us and make our life a bit easier. I’m really looking forward to it.”
