2026 betr Darwin Triple Crown , Event 06 of the Repco Supercars Championship, Hidden Valley, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. 19-21 June, 2026.
Team 18 and Anton De Pasquale delivered one of the drives of the day at Hidden Valley Raceway, climbing 12 positions from 20th on the grid to finish eighth in Race 18 of the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship at the Darwin Triple Crown.
The result capped off a strong recovery for Team 18 after both Camaros faced a difficult qualifying session on the Super Soft tyre compound earlier in the day.
After showing promising speed in Friday practice, the team faced a tougher challenge in Saturday qualifying at Hidden Valley Raceway. With temperatures rising and the field switching to the Super Soft tyre compound, both the DEWALT Racing and Snowy River Racing Chevrolets struggled to extract the pace required to advance through the knockout format. David Reynolds qualified 18th, while Anton De Pasquale qualified 20th after narrowly missing progression from Q1.
Despite the disappointing starting positions, the team rolled the dice on a number of setup changes ahead of the 70-lap encounter, with De Pasquale quickly showcasing the pace hidden within the DEWALT Racing Camaro. After overcoming early contact that left rear bodywork rubbing on the tyre, the Victorian worked his way through the field through the two compulsory stops, breaking into the top 10 before closing on Feeney in the closing stages to secure eighth place.
On the other side of the garage, Reynolds endured a difficult afternoon in the thick of the midfield battle. The Snowy River Racing driver gained positions early before becoming locked in a race-long scrap through the middle of the pack. Despite showing strong tyre longevity across the race distance, Reynolds was unable to convert that into forward progress and crossed the line in 17th position.
The result provided valuable insights for Team 18 ahead of Sunday’s finale, with both drivers encouraged by the stronger performance shown on the Soft tyre during Friday’s running compared to the Super Soft compound used on Saturday.
Sunday’s action will see the field return to the Soft tyre for the final 200km race of the Darwin Triple Crown. Qualifying for Race 19 begins at 10:40am ACST, followed by the Top Ten Shootout at 11:35am, before the weekend concludes with the 70-lap feature race at 2:40pm. All sessions will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and Kayo.
RESULTS & QUOTES
Anton De Pasquale, driver #18 DEWALT Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
Qualifying Race 18: P20 (1:06.5263)
Race 18: P8 (Fastest Lap: 1:07.7248, Lap 59)
“A lot hotter today. A typical Darwin day compared to yesterday with a bit of rain around and all that stuff.
“A bad start to the day for us, qualifying towards the back, which we haven’t done in a while. Changing the tyre, we missed a window there somewhere.
“We took a big swing for the race and the race car was pretty good. We moved up into the top 10 and into eighth, and had really good pace. We were catching a few cars in front of us, so there are some learnings there.
“Obviously we go back to the Soft tyre for the finale tomorrow. We’ll have a look at what to do and hopefully qualify at the front and have a good race.”
David Reynolds, driver #20 Snowy River Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
Qualifying Race 18: P18 (1:06.7105)
Race 18: P17 (Fastest Lap: 1:08.4442, Lap 47)
“It was hot. I was in a battle all the time. It was a couple of steps forward, a couple of steps back, a couple of steps forward, a couple of steps back, and that was 70 laps of pain and misery.
“I still had the longevity in my car, so it looked after its tyres pretty well, but I just had no peak performance. When I had to go, I couldn’t go. But I could do a good job of looking after my car and looking after the tyres, and had reasonable pace at the end of the stints, but I’d lost too much time at the start. That’s something we’ll go through tonight.
“Tomorrow we’re back on the Soft tyre. We were more competitive on the Soft tyre than we were on the Super Soft, so let’s see how we go. I’m looking forward to it. Hopefully we’re going to learn from what we did on Friday and apply that to tomorrow.”
