One of Australia’s largest property developers Resimax Group has joined forces with Team 18 as the title sponsor for Scott Pye’s #20 Resimax Group Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for this week’s Beaurepaires Melbourne SuperSprint at the 2023 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park.
The Resimax Group is one of Australia’s most dynamic and diversified property groups, and fully-integrated specialists in end-to-end property services from land acquisition through to project marketing and property management, with communities based all across Victoria.
Resimax Group is led by dynamic businessman and horse racing identity Ozzie Kheir, with diverse interests including hospitality, media, technology and his passion for horse racing, including a winner of the 2014 and 2021 Melbourne Cup. Resimax Group also boasts Olympic gold medallist Steve Hooker in their leadership team.
“It’s a proud announcement for everyone at Resimax Group to hit the track with Scott Pye and Team 18 at this year’s Supercars races at the Australian Grand Prix,” said Kheir.
“It’s an iconic event on the Melbourne events calendar and the Supercars races are always a highlight for the local crowds so for us to be a part of it this year is really exciting.
“The Resimax Group Camaro looks sensational and we wish Scott and the team all the best and we can’t wait to support them trackside.”
Pye’s livery has been tweaked after the season opener in Newcastle, with the red of the Resimax Group featuring down the sides of the car and on the bonnet.
Pye sits tenth in the Drivers’ Championship after results of seventh and 17th at Round 1 in Newcastle, with Team 18 working to build on their strong start to the year which sees the team positioned third in the Team’s Championship.
“Super excited to be able to welcome Resimax Group on board,” said Pye.
“They’re a local company that’s kicking massive goals, so hopefully we can go out there and get some champagne for them and for their first time on a Supercar, I hope that we can do them proud and get them a result that we’re all celebrating come Sunday afternoon.
“We’re very fortunate to have great support and it’s a credit to Charlie [Schwerkolt] as well. I’m very lucky that I get to go out there and represent the team and our partners and I look forward to putting on a good show this weekend and getting something that we can all be smiling about.”
Team 18 owner Charlie Schwerkolt echoed Pye’s pride to represent Resimax Group at the Australian Grand Prix.
“We’re proud to partner with a Victorian success story in the Resimax Group for what is one of the most popular events on the Australian sporting calendar in the Formula 1 Grand Prix,” said Schwerkolt.
“The Grand Prix is always a great event for Supercars to be a part of to bring new fans to the sport and showcase our Supercars on a global scale, and this year is set to be bigger than ever with a record, sold out crowd expected.
“2023 started off strong for us in Newcastle with Scott showing competitive speed straight out of the gate. This round is a new challenge for our Gen3 cars as we develop a setup to suit the fast-flowing nature of the Albert Park circuit, one which Scott has great memories from over the years including his win in 2018.
“We’re looking forward to seeing Scott hit the track in the #20 Resimax Group Team 18 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix.”
The Beaurepaires Melbourne SuperSprint, which is part of the support act to the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, kicks off on Thursday, March 30, with the weekend broadcast live on Fox Sports and Channel 10.
