Team 18 celebrated a milestone day in Townsville, with TRADIE Energy Racing’s David Reynolds scoring pole position before he and DEWALT Racing’s Anton De Pasquale finished inside the top ten in Race 21 of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship.
De Pasquale climbed from 11th to finish sixth, while Reynolds converted his incredible pole position into a tenth-place result after battling handling issues in the latter half of the race. The result marked a strong day overall for the team, with their first pole position since 2019, and both cars inside the top ten for the first time this season.
Reynolds stunned the field in the Top Ten Shootout, claiming the team’s second-ever pole with a lightning lap around the Townsville street circuit. It was his first pole since the 2023 season-opener in Newcastle.
De Pasquale narrowly missed a place in the Shootout by just six-hundredths of a second, starting 11th. He made moves early and executed a smart strategy, gaining ground in the pit cycle before challenging for a top-five finish. He ultimately crossed the line in sixth, moving up to seventh in the championship standings.
Reynolds was thrilled with the pole position, but disappointed not to convert it into a stronger result, citing a gear issue at the start and ongoing struggles with grip and braking late in the race to drop back to tenth.
De Pasquale reflected positively on the day, noting the team’s strategy and race pace allowed him to move forward despite just missing the Shootout. He’s focused on fine-tuning qualifying pace for another shot tomorrow.
Sunday’s schedule mirrors Saturday, with Qualifying at 10:05am, a Top Ten Shootout at 12:05pm and the final 200km Race 22 kicking off at 3:00pm.
