TRADIE Energy Racing’s David Reynolds enjoyed a sensational turnaround in form on Sunday at the Perth Super440, powering to a seventh-place finish in Race 16 at CARCO.com.au Raceway.

Following a tough Saturday where Reynolds and the TRADIE Energy Chevrolet battled for balance, the team made major overnight changes that delivered immediate results. Reynolds qualified provisionally second before settling into fifth position for the Top 10 Shootout.

DEWALT Racing’s Anton De Pasquale continued his strong weekend form to also progress into the shootout, starting the race from tenth. While the team didn’t save a fresh set of tyres for the shootout, it set both cars up well for the long game.

Reynolds got off to a clean start but lost ground after being forced wide at Turn 6 by James Golding, while De Pasquale surged forward, running as high as fifth and matching the leaders for pace in the early stages.

However, De Pasquale’s strong run was derailed after his first pit stop when the DEWALT Camaro began to lose battery voltage. The issue worsened throughout the race, ultimately draining the car’s power in the closing laps and dropping him to 18th by the chequered flag.

Meanwhile, Reynolds executed a clean strategy and maintained strong pace across both stints, moving back up the order to secure seventh at the finish line, his third top ten result of the year.

Despite the late setback, both cars starting in the top ten and the improved Sunday performance highlight the ongoing development within Team 18.

The team now moves to eighth in the Teams Championship and will return to action at the Darwin Triple Crown on June 20-22 for Supercars’ Indigenous Round, with special liveries to be revealed later this week.
