Team 18 and Stanley Black & Decker have announced an extension to their partnership that will see the world’s largest toolmaker take on naming rights support of the team for the fifth year in succession.
The partnership will see DEWALT, a Stanley Black & Decker brand, become naming rights partner on Mark Winterbottom’s #18 DEWALT Racing Team 18 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship.
“It’s great for the team to continue our journey with Stanley Black and Decker in 2023 and going forwards into the Gen3 era of the Supercars Championship,” said Winterbottom.
“I can’t wait to see the new DEWALT Racing Camaro hit the track next year.
“Our preparation for Gen 3 has been ongoing for a while, but it’s really ramped up after the season finished in Adelaide as new parts arrive on the door every day.
“It was good for us to work our way into the top ten of the championship by the end of the year, but Gen3 is a full reset for the championship and a whole new approach to driving a Supercar.
“We’ll be working as hard as we can to capitalise on the fresh start in the new year and be a contender in 2023.”
Stanley Black & Decker have supported Team 18 since 2018, fitting the team with a suite of tools to prepare their Supercars for competition.
Stanley Black & Decker took on naming rights support through leading hand tool brand IRWIN Tools in 2019 and backed Winterbottom’s entry for the last four seasons.
“The partnership between Stanley Black & Decker and Team 18 is the combination of two teams who share the same drive for innovation and performance,” said Team 18 owner Charlie Schwerkolt.
“We are incredibly proud to continue our partnership with a leading global organisation in Stanley Black & Decker, ever since their first involvement with Sidchrome in 2018.
“We are looking forward to continuing to work together as we enter an exciting new phase for the Supercars Championship next year.
2023 will mark a swap of brands within their extensive portfolio from IRWIN to power tool brand DEWALT.
The partnership will include at-track events and fan activations with the ‘DEWALT Guaranteed Tough Truck’ visiting major Supercars events and tool retailers throughout the year.
“Stanley Black & Decker have partnered with Team 18 since 2018 and we are excited to announce the continuation of our involvement for the 2023 Supercars season with the DEWALT brand,” said Adrian Davis, Managing Director ANZ of Stanley Black & Decker.
“This sponsorship gives us the platform to interact with our end users and build exciting activations with our retail partners across the country and we have a lot planned for 2023”
“DEWALT is one of the most recognised and popular power tool brands in the world and the association with Team 18 and Supercars is a great opportunity to engage in a fun and supercharged atmosphere.”
Winterbottom and Team 18 will hit the track in the new DEWALT Racing Team 18 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Supercar for testing early in the new year in preparation for the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship.
