2025 2025 NTI Townsville 500, Event 07 of the Repco Supercars Championship, Townsville Street Circut, Townsville, Queensland, Australia. 12 Jul, 2025.
Team 18 drivers Anton De Pasquale and David Reynolds are ready to take on the final round of the Supercars Sprint Cup as the championship returns to Queensland Raceway for the first time since 2019.
The return to the revitalised circuit is highly anticipated, following significant upgrades under new ownership. The venue now boasts a resurfaced track, enhanced safety features, a brand-new pit lane complex, as well as improved grandstands and paddock facilities.
TRADIE Energy Racing’s David Reynolds arrives in Ipswich off the back of a remarkable pole position in Townsville.. Despite feeling under the weather, Reynolds brought home a top-ten finish in Race 21 and will be aiming to build on that momentum this weekend.
Meanwhile, Anton De Pasquale heads into the round with strong form, having claimed podium finishes at both Darwin and Townsville, surging to seventh in the championship standings. De Pasquale will reveal a new livery on Thursday evening, with fellow Stanley Black & Decker brand Cub Cadet set to take naming rights for Ipswich, Gold Coast and Sandown.
Queensland Raceway will host three sprint races across the weekend, with the results set to decide the 2025 Supercars Sprint Cup Champion. Following the Sprint Cup, the championship shifts focus to the endurance races at The Bend and Bathurst, which will determine who qualifies for the Supercars Finals.
The action doesn’t stop on Sunday, with the team remaining at Queensland Raceway until Tuesday for Supercars’ second and final all-in test day of the year and then a passenger ride day on Wednesday. Co-drivers Lee Holdsworth and Harri Jones will join the squad for valuable preparation ahead of the endurance season.
The 2025 Ipswich Super440 offers fans a bumper weekend of racing, featuring three races across Races 23, 24 and 25. Friday sees two 30-minute practice sessions, followed by knockout qualifying and twin 120km races on Saturday. Sunday includes a three-part qualifying session capped off by a Top Ten Shootout and a 200km, 63-lap feature race to close out the weekend.
All sessions will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and Kayo. Check local guides for full broadcast details.
QUOTES
Anton De Pasquale, #18 Cub Cadet Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
“I’m excited to get back in the car and race in Ipswich. It’s the first time we’ve been there in a few years, and the first time in the Gen 3 era, which is exciting and I think it should promote some good racing.
“I’m keen to carry on our momentum and form from the last couple of rounds, keep building on what we’ve been doing.
“It’ll be nice to get back to Ipswich and into some warmer weather too. Hopefully we roll out of the truck strong and can hit the ground running.
“We’re back on the traditional sprint format this weekend, Saturday will be a pretty intense day. If we can get through Friday with a solid car out of the box, then we can fine-tune it across the weekend and put ourselves in a good position.”
David Reynolds, #20 TRADIE Energy Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
“It’s been six years since we last raced there, so it’s been a very long time. The circuit is the same, but the surfaces will have changed a lot.
“It’s a pretty simple looking track, but everyone loves it because you can always see the cars at every corner, you can’t miss them.
“The track makes for really good racing, the layout of the circuit’s really hard fought so there’s always good battles going on. So hopefully we can qualify well and race up there. It’s a low degradation track, so if we qualify well I think we can end up with a good result.”
